In this project, we replaced an old gas boiler system with a modern Vaillant air-to-water heat pump (split refrigerant system), providing an energy-efficient and sustainable heating solution for the property in Chislehurst, UK.
System Overview
The new system features:
- Vaillant aroTHERM split heat pump – external unit for efficient air-to-water heat exchange.
- 250L Vaillant domestic hot water cylinder – providing a constant supply of hot water for the household.
- 45L buffer tank – ensuring stable operation and improved heating performance.
- Vaillant hydraulic components and control system for full integration and efficiency.
The installation includes a complete reconfiguration and replacement of the existing pipework, ensuring optimal water circulation and system balance. All copper pipework was meticulously laid out, pressure tested, and fully insulated to meet the highest energy efficiency and safety standards.
Indoor Installation
Inside the property, we fitted the indoor unit, expansion vessel, buffer tank, and hot water cylinder, along with all necessary valves, pumps, and sensors. The system was neatly mounted on a reinforced timber wall, allowing easy access for future maintenance and inspection. After completing the hydraulic circuit, all pipes were insulated with high-performance thermal insulation to minimize heat loss.
Outdoor Unit
The Vaillant external heat pump unit was installed on a dedicated concrete base, ensuring stability, proper drainage, and noise reduction. The refrigerant and heating connections were routed securely between the indoor and outdoor units, maintaining a professional and tidy appearance.
Result
The completed system delivers exceptional efficiency and comfort, significantly reducing gas consumption and carbon emissions. The client now benefits from a reliable and eco-friendly heating solution designed for long-term performance and low running costs.
