For this project in Orpington, UK, Expert Heating Solutions carried out a complete air source heat pump system upgrade and plant room reconfiguration, improving efficiency, reliability, and long-term system performance for the property.
The house already had an LG air source heat pump (14 kW) installed. As part of this project, the existing unit was professionally reinstalled and relocated to a more suitable outdoor position, ensuring improved airflow, easier maintenance access, and compliance with current installation best practices.
Scope of Works:
- Reinstallation and relocation of the existing LG 14 kW ASHP outdoor unit
- New insulated pipework installed from the outdoor unit to the plant room
- New 300-litre domestic hot water cylinder, providing reliable hot water capacity for the household
- 25-litre buffer tank, enhancing system stability and heat pump efficiency
- Water softener, protecting the system from limescale and extending component lifespan
- Full plant room reconfiguration, with neat pipe routing, clear zoning, and high-quality insulation
Inside the plant room, all pipework was upgraded and installed to a high professional standard, with careful attention paid to system layout, serviceability, and future maintenance. The system was designed to maximise performance while keeping the installation clean, compact, and well organised.
